General: Iko is, in most ways, a typical mage, at least in mindset and dedication. The unique thing about him, however, is that he doesn't have the appearance of a human (despite technically being one). Standing just under six feet tall, Iko takes the appearance of an anthromorphic (biped, humanoid structure) wolf. His head is similar to a wolf's: erect ears top his head, about three inches tall over his head, that function like cat ears. His eyes have yellow irises, and the fur covering his body, unless otherwise stated, is a short and white. His ears and feet are a dark blue in color. His feet are more 'wolfish' in quality, having a wolven bone stucture adapted for a biped, short, black claws protruding from each toe (about a quarter of an inch). His hands, however, are more characteristic to a human; small, retractable claws exist in each finger, about three eighths of an inch in length.
Aside from this, Iko has two unique markings in his fur: in his forehead, slightly above both eyes, exists the symbol of a crescent moon, and on the outside of each arm, there exists a one-inch wide green line extending from the wrist to the elbow.

Iko's clothing can vary by situation, but it would be most appropriate to show his attire as a mage. On the field, a mission, or whatnot, his clothing is rather simple. Over his torso, he wears a hard-leather vest over a simple white undershirt, one that does not extend far past the shoulders, simple pockets at the chest to hold small items (which may also vary depending on the mission or situation, none of which are unexpected or enchanted in nature).
He also wears chaps of similar material of the vest, worn over a thin pair of pants (usually black and of thin material to not further restrict movement). Past this, he has a small 'sheath' at his right hip, where he holds his 'wand' (see enchanted items).

- Effect: A simple wooden wand with a metallic ring at the end, this stick is swung to create a single floating ball of light. Upon focus, the ball can become brighter, but it can do no damage and can easily be destroyed.

Magic: Darkrend Magic Type: Shadow Manipulation - Magic Description:
All users of "Darkrend" are able to manipulate magical energies into their shadows, manipulating their shape and length, in addition to giving them animate qualities. All shadows they cross become fair fodder to use for the technique... up to a certain range, that is.
Ironically, Darkrend users CANNOT use their techniques without a source of light (like the sun). Further, they can individually manipulate the shadows from multiple light sources: even if its faint, Darkrend users fight best when several light sources are shining on them at once!

- Effect Type: Offensive
- Effect: With focus, Iko manipulates his shadow upward from the floor, shooting up several solid spikes towards the enemy. Fast and efficient.
- Range: To a maximum of thirty meters, the range and number of needles depends on how much shadow Iko has to work with.
- Backlash: Iko needs to hold his palms to the ground to use this technique, and thus becomes a target. This also makes it far less effective underwater.

- Spell Type: Utility/Darkrend
- Effect Type: Utility
- Effect: Pressing his palms to the ground, Iko manipulates an entire shadow into a weapon that can be constructed into a single piece, such as a hammer, sword, or boomerang.
- Range: He needs to be in direct contact with the shadow to conjure the weapon.
- Backlash: He is open while conjuring, and the weapon is unusually vulnerable to light, fire, and like magics.

- Effect: Focusing the runic impressions on his outer arms, Iko conjures both light and shadow into his wrists to create a blade on each, curved, extending a foot outward and as long as the wrist to the forearm. It can be used in conjunction with 'Dark Weapon Shape'.

What can I say about Iko? Off of the job or hanging around the guild, he's a pretty lax, friendly, and non-serious guy, not above partying or telling jokes or sharing drinks with guildmates he's honestly never taken the care to know. More-so reasonable than loyal, he does what he feels would be right, even if it would go against his orders or just be plain out of his way.
Inside of a fight, he's focused and serious. Everyone is, and for Iko it more or less depends on what kind of fight it is. Sport? He has a smile on his face, and may be constantly admiring his opponent's actions. A threat to his friends or guild? You'd better be hoping that you aren't the one doing so, or those fangs might end up in your throat. A training fight? He tries things he's never done before, if only to try and understand a different style of fighting.
See, he's a pretty average, relatively loyal and reasonable person. Not easily manipulated, not above flirting or having a good time, disgusted just as easily as most people are disgusted... yeah! To put it simply, you'd like this guy regardless of his intoxication level (though he only drinks socially).

How can I put this...
Well, Iko was raised in Fiore, like several other mages of his class... um... born in anthropomorph to an anthropomorphic family, he had a little bit of a jerk time in the earlier years of his education. He liked, and studied, magic, finding a particular affinity with playing around with his own shadow...
You know what, I'm not even going to justify it here. Putting it simply, nothing bad happened and this is a boring, normal history with normal teachers and nothing grossly worth mentioning here. He's currently wandering in an effort to see the world before settling with a guild.
I also hate histories and have no patience to make one. So there. He may refer to his past, but not in a meaningful, longing, or purposeful way.
