| Character Reference → General Quote: "Amnesia used to be my favorite word, but then I forgot it." - General Info:
Given Name: Doesn't remember, calls herself Raya Titles & Alias: Doesn't remember any. Faction Alignment: Mage Guild: Raven Tail Mage Rank: D
Age: 29, but she doesn't know that. Gender: Female, one of the few things she's certain about. Orientation: Bi
Height: 6'1'' Weight: 142 pounds Body Type: Lean
General Appearance:
If you look at Raya, the first impression she would give you is that of an experienced traveler person who had seen much. The road wand, a tattered cloak, stature, body and the facial expression, scar across the eye only amplifying it, would give you that, and it is not very far from truth ... probably. Raya is a ...err, fox anthro thing? Her fur is gray and white. A small muzzle makes her face look more human than animalistic, though a pair of fox ears on her head changes that impression.
Her attire consists of a dark-green dust-cloak that covers her shoulder and is strapped in place by several belts and a small, brown pauldron, a suit of dark-colored leather armor underneath, that looks like it is made of belts. It is long enough, and it's edges cover her nethers like a mini-skirt. Her legs are covered with some weird mix between a long boot and a stocking, they're made of sturdy brown cloth and are held in place by belts wrapped around her legs also.
There's a bag she carries behind her back, where she keeps her things, it can be always seen on her, and in her hands there's a road staff - a useful tool both in fighting and during trips. It is wrapped with cloths to prevent damage to the wood it is made of and also to be softer to touch. Three feathers hang down from it's tip, for nothing more than looking pretty. She also has a sword in her scabbards, adding to the image of a warrior.
Scars, Tattoos, & Distinguishing Features: A scar across her left eye, looks like it was made by something sharp, like a sword.
Aptitudes & Combat Specs → Armaments Inventory: - Armor- Spoiler:
Padded body armor: It is decent for protection against kicks and punches, and blunt weapons like clubs. Does poorly against stabbing and other sharp things. Is fairly light to not hinder movement.
- Weaponry: - Spoiler:
Staff: A simple road staff made of sturdy wood.
Sword: An average steel straight sword with a cross guard, nothing special.
- Accessories: - Spoiler:
"Ritual arts and binding practices." - A rather hefty book describing many secrets of her trade, consists valuable knowledge, starting from simpler stuff, and ending with complicated and powerful rituals. Handwriting is hers.
Enchanted Equipment: - Spoiler:
- Name: Little knight; Don Quixote - Type: Puppet - Effect: Raya can control it with magic, to make it move around, and can also "see" through it's eyes. - Acquired: She doesn't remember when and where she acquired the puppet, but it is she who built it, and it just feels "right" in her hands. It's a small, about 30 centimeters tall, puppet, made of wood and metal, that looks like a medieval knight, clad in armor, and in a hat-like helmet. It has the face of a sad, and somewhat aged man, with swollen eyes, a mustache and a wrinkly "skin". Used to be one of her childhood toys a very long time ago, and one of her first "puppets" since she started studying the subject of manipulating inanimate objects. Was also enchanted by her. Image: Aptitudes & Talents: She is a decent fighter with her staff, and knows how to hold herself inside high halls, where nobles of the realm dwell. Is quite adept in espionage, and politics. Unique Abilities: None. STATS: 0/0 Strength: Endurance: Accuracy: Speed: Fame: Victories: Defeats: Draws: Arcane Reference → Magicks Magic: Object animation. Magic Type: Doll Magic/Ritual - Description:
Exactly what it says on the tin. Her magic specifies on making inanimate object become animate, and do various things for her, be that fighting, spying, or other stuff. Simple things can be performed with relative ease, but something more powerful and long-lasting usually requires a complex ritual, and spending gratuitous amounts of energy.
Technique: 3/3 - Invisible swordsman:
- Name: Invisible swordsman - Type: Combat - Offensive - Effect: Raya touches a weapon (usually her sword), infusing it with some of her energy, after which she can mentally control it's movements, making it float in the air and swing blows at an opponent at will. The strength of the blow equals to an average sword blow. She can control up to 3 weapons. - Range: Raya has complete control of the weapons in radius of 20 meters. - Backlash: She cannot fight herself during the time she uses the technique. She can move around, but engaging in any sort of fighting personally, or casting another spell would break her concentration and make the weapon fall to the ground.
- Puppet show:
- Name: Puppet show - Type: Control - Effect: Allows Raya to take control of puppets that have been infused with her energy and a special ritual performed on them. Those puppets can move around, fight and she could see and hear what they would see and hear, were they real people. She can control 1 puppet directly. Strength of blows depends on the size of the puppet, and amount of energy they're infused with. Said puppets have to be created using Aramor creation technique and the like. - Range: Up to a kilometer. - Backlash: Raya cannot be disturbed, or go anywhere, or use any other magicks during usage of the technique, which makes her vulnerable.
- Aramor creation:
- Name: Aramor creation - Type: Ritual - Effect: Infuses a suit of armor, a mannequin, or anything of the sort with the user's energy. After preforming the incantation, the object in question "becomes alive". It can perform simple commands on their own, or be controlled directly by the summoner with "Puppet show", though it is recommended to not order them anything complicated. The Aramor can fight with strength of a normal human. - Range: Undetermined - Backlash: Takes out a lot of energy out of the summoner. After performing it once, Raya probably wouldn't be able to perform it again in the same thread.
Psychological Reference → Persona Temperament: Raya is a proud, ambitious woman. A firm believer that one can and should be able to achieve anything, if enough will and strength is applied to it. That in mind, she also believes that people who complain about their fate are just lazy, and looks down upon the weak kind of folk - the poor, defenseless and whatever. She hates any displays of weakness like that, and would yell, rebuke the person who shows that in front of her, and push him or her to stand up on their own and do shit. And after yelling enough, she would just do what she can to help these weaklings out, if she feels like it, and depending on the task. And after doing things the RIGHT way, she would yell some more about how worthless and pathetic they are. Raya's not a bad person, per se, and things like compassion, and pity, she is not immune of. Her help, however, more often than not, has to be paid. That's another of her beliefs - that any labor must be paid for. Any favor must be repaid. So if someone makes her a favor, she makes sure to return it as soon as possible. Her reaction to people depends on how you present yourself. You look like you know what you're doing - you're an equal. You're master of your trade - you're superior. You're a worthless beggar - she will insult you on how pathetic you are, and, depending on the hopelessness of your situation, will help you or not. her views on friends are pretty generic - friends to her are those people who she could trust enough and who could help her out with what she can't do herself. Raya considers herself a faithful friend, as long as said friendship is not being abused. Speaking of pride, she doesn't allow anyone, and I do mean anyone, insult and belittle her in any way. Should you be callous enough to cross that line, expect yourself to be under attack, to have your ass kicked. So beware, her honor code is rather touchy about those things. And, if you somehow managed to avoid her righteous butt-kicking, Raya will hold a grudge, and will seek a way to come back at you for humiliation. A pet peeve of hers... Raya's also very ambitious. She believes herself to be destined for something great, and would strive to achieve riches, greatness, and mastery through any means possible. She's a mercenary, a merchant, a politician, a puppet master, all in one. And will use her skills to gain more of what she desires. Raya considers her current place in society a disgrace, and is eager to rise up. By herself. But the woman does have a ... softer, weaker side. Most of it has to do with the fact she cannot remember anything about her past. As well as periodically striking amnesia that may erase her memories. And she looks rather pitiful when asking a stranger every now and than if they ever saw her. She carries a diary with her to write down things in case she would forget, and fears greatly that it may happen again. Whoever helps her out with finding out more about herself is bound to earn her deepest gratitude. Traits: Perfectionist, stubborn, smart, proud, capable, knowledgeable, cunning, selfish, determined. Fears/Phobias: Amnesia. Dirty Secrets: With the person she loves, Raya can become quite a slut. Prejudice: Weaklings. Family: N/A Friends: N/A Rivals: N/A Goals: Power, wealth, influence, finding out who she used to be. History:- Spoiler:
Raya, previously known under different name, was a daughter of a minor lord within a kingdom of Pergrante. Her father held control over a little city with a fortress at it's center, and ruled wisely, treating his subjects strictly but fairly. Her mom was different from her somewhat meek dad. A strong-willed woman and a powerful mage, she, as well as her husband, wanted to prepare Raya to, eventually, take the throne once they step down. Raya grew into a loving family, somewhat, where both parents cared much about her and about what she would grow into. Sadly, her circle of people she contacted with was, from very young age, people who either depended on her or she depended on, a world of lie, insincerity and intrigue. Among those, she didn't have friends, even with children - she knew their parents would try influencing them and her to get a better standing in the realm.
The girl was taught many things. From politics to secrets of magic that her mother wielded. In both, she had talent. From dad she inherited a sharp mind, from mom - magical prowess and strong will. Developing and studying puppet magic, Raya seemed to take it farther, exploring "uncharted waters, and developing new ways of using what was already invented, adding her ideas and designs to what was already learned... Though her main passion was magery, she willingly helped Dad out with managing the city, already trying her hand at steering the wheel. But her life was destined to change, very soon...
Raya was fairly beautiful for her kind, and word of that, and the fact that she was coming of age, was spreading to the neighboring realms. Soon enough, suitors came seeking her hand, in hopes of capturing her heart and getting a hand over her Dad's rich city. However, they didn't have much luck - she saw through their shenanigans, pinning them and their pettiness down with a steely glare, and turning down one offer after another. Personally, she didn't like this game. Love affairs was one of the few things she wouldn't seek any profit in, and she didn't like these snobbish nobles who were, in general, far less men than even her guards were!
However, one was different.
It was a huge, hulky wolf-man. His name was Rezak. A barbarian, leader of a horde of those like him. He too attended to this... He definitely wasn't like the pussy-ass bitchy rich boys that visited her before... But he was a feral, a brute, without manners, or knowing how to read or write. All he knew was to fight and pillage. Raya didn't like him either and told him to get out. But, unlike all previous suitors, he didn't take a "No" for an answer.
Soon after rejection, he brought his horde to the walls of the city, and demanded to surrender Raya to him, or he will take her by force, even if he'll have to raze the city. Hearing that, Raya appeared on the wall, wearing her battle armor, and cloak flapping behind her shoulders. She replied proudly, that for him to have her, he will have to kill each and everyone able to hold arms protecting her honor. The barbarians answered her proud words with violent howls, the townsfolk answered their howls with a rain of arrows.
The siege has begun.
At first, the Horde tried to storm the walls. But they were brutes, and without proper siege equipment, armed only with ladders, they didn't succeed. Many were left dead under the impressive fortress walls. Not succeeding with this, the wolf-man ordered to siege the city. Saying that he will stand here forever, if he must, but he will have her. Raya answered that they will be defending these walls till they die of old age. And indeed, there were enough supplies in the city to last for years. However... Their defense were not as impregnable as they thought...
There was a traitor in the midst. Bought by barbarian gold, he shot an arrow with a letter at night, where he told the Horde where they must dig and how deep to find and cut off the town's water supply. And it became the city's undoing. Townspeople were horrified when the water stopped flowing into their well, and were only able to watch from the walls as the barbarians showed flasks full of water to them, spilling the precious liquid to the ground and laughing mockingly.
After a month of war, without water, the city surrendered to mercy of the invader. Horde looted throughout the streets, pillaged and raped. Rezak didn't care. As a victor, he, with guards, went straight into Palace. His vicious men cut down the few remaining guards, and he himself put a sword through Raya's father and mother, when they tried protecting their daughter. Eventually, he found Raya hiding in one of the rooms. She tried fighting, easily defeated. And when defeated, the barbarian pinned her to the wall, defenseless, and took her. Roughly, and deeply. And when that happened, she knew the world she lived in would be lost forever...
Rezak claimed the city her father managed, and called himself the new king. Raya as his wife, whether she liked it or not. Their relationship throughout the years was ... a strange one. She was defiant, even after losing. And she refused to obey him, be subservient. He loved her because of that, in a primal, brutish love. He let her deal with the city's affairs, leaving the army to himself. And whenever he need a woman's warmth, he came to her bedroom and just took his due, whether she liked it or not. And considering he was roughly two times bigger than her ... she didn't like it much...
But, their 'relationship', if it could even be called that way. Raya bore him a son, named Alland, but his father didn't have time to waste with a child. Busy fighting, warring, conquering. She was a good mother, even if the boy wasn't born out of love. She knew she might need him one day... And soon, that day came.
Rezak found himself a new woman to conquer, tiring of Raya's constant defiance and resistance. A princess of a rich and powerful kingdom that had borders with em. They were strong, but cowardly too. Willing to give out their princess to have peace with the powerful barbarian. The princess in question was of incredible beauty, and younger than Raya. Rezak fell for her immediately, forgetting about his wife. The princess, however, put him a condition. To be the ONLY wife he'd have. And that meant that Raya had to go away.
She couldn't take such a disgrace... After enduring so much, this was the last straw. It really was a love-hate relationship after all. And now, it became pure hate. She tried assassinating Rezak herself. But failed, the warrior was still too powerful, even for her, her magic and her rage. Infuriated by the attack and attempt on his life, Rezak rose his sword to cut her down, but, at the last moment, Raya's little son stepped in between the two, picking up Raya's sword to defend his mom from father he barely knew. Remorselessly, Rezak struck the boy down, slicing him in two before guards could drag their enraged king away...
Raya's fate had to be decided. When he asked why she did this, Raya answered coldly and proudly: "You ruined my life and my family to have me, and then you were going to abandon me and your son for some cheap whore." For what she did, Rezak wanted to execute her. But he couldn't. The queen was popular among the people of his realm, and the only "legitimate ruler" they accepted. Killing her would have raised the people to revolt. And besides... there were still some feelings he harbored for her which didn't allow him to kill her. An exile would be enough. But the wolf-man knew that a woman such as she would eventually come back with an army. He couldn't risk that. Listening to one of his advisors, Rezak hired a mage to wipe out Raya's memory completely, after which... he just ordered to throw her out of the country. Only her clothes, weapons, and a bit of money with her.
To let her roam the lands, in blissful ignorance of atrocities that happened to her...
